Translation: I am incapable of answering specific questions.
Part of the problem... (as in not part of the solution)It really is a little like that.
At times I actually wonder if this guy is serious or just taking the piss to wind people up.
It's hard to imagine anyone actually being that ignorant and bigoted, apart from Alf Garnett or Archie Bunker.
Funnily enough that was the argument I made 15 odd pages ago…change the date to one that accommodates everyone and that everyone can celebrate (or not). Thanks Prowsey.
Then change the date. Celebrate Australia together. No brainer.

Yes.Any in the last 120 years?.
And what are you saying?, ok there was murder of blacks so there is a good excuse not to move on?.
It's a no-brainer. Even the jellyfish agree.Funnily enough that was the argument I made 15 odd pages ago…change the date to one that accommodates everyone and that everyone can celebrate (or not).
It’s the simplest thing in the world and would be very quickly accepted by the overwhelming majority.
Those that wanted to celebrate on the 26th January still could…it just wouldn’t be a public holiday.
Selecting a date would be a unifying gesture that encompassed our First Nations people AND the millions of people that have come here - from a 100+ countries - after the founding of the Country in 1901.
Whether your ancestors have been here for 60k+ years, arrived as convicts, gaolers, or free settlers (like my ancestors) before Australia was founded, came here as part of the great waves of immigration after 1901, or you’ve just become an Australian citizen - it would be a national holiday for all of us.
I truly don’t understand why people think this is a bad idea.
Yes.
Why are white families destroying their rental properties?Do you have any answers?, landlords are reluctant to rent to these people because of a history of destruction of property, why is that?, why are aboriginal kids roaming the streets late at night, why is that?, why is domestic abuse and child molestation so high in aboriginal communities, why?, why is domestic violence and violence and crime so prolific in aboriginal communities, why is that, people like YOU do nothing to solve the issues you only make excuses for the behavior, well dont be surprised if that behavior just keeps going unless things change and the change must start with them.
Hey gerg if you have evidence that Aboriginals make great tenants and there is few issues with property destruction, or that violence, child abuse, domestic violence, crime ect isnt a big issue in aboriginal communities then wack it up fella, i would love to see that.
Why are white families destroying their rental properties?
Why are white kids roaming the streets after midnight? Why are they getting into trouble with the police and committing crimes?
Why are white adults beating their female partners and sexually abusing their kids?
Of course your institutionalised biases won’t allow you to see that there are significant societal issues amongst non-indigineous families. It just doesn’t get the same media attention.
What point are you trying to make?So that means we dont move on from German and japanese people, is that what you think is productive?.
What point are you trying to make?
You asked have there been any massacres of indigenous people in the last 120 years.
I answered “yes”…there have been massacres of First Nations people in the 20th century.
And one of the key things that enabled people to move on in the two examples you provided was that there was recognition from both the German and Japanese Govts (on behalf of their people) that their actions in WWII were horrific and that they were sorry.
You and people like you believe that recognising that the indigenous were massacred by our collective ancestors (my ancestors came here on the 2nd fleet) is a waste of time, or that it’s a black armband view of history.
Nope - first part of moving on, as you seem so keen on, Is acknowledgment.
Honestly…what a case for the “Sarah Palin” award, this comment is.My wife has been with QLD police for 28 years, i have a good handle on whats going on , are you trying to tell me that statistically its percentage wise just as prevalent in the greater community?, i think you would be very wrong.
Police see the absolute worst of society so you have a very biased handle on what's going on.My wife has been with QLD police for 28 years, i have a good handle on whats going on , are you trying to tell me that statistically its percentage wise just as prevalent in the greater community?, i think you would be very wrong.
