I was suprised how far down amongst his contemporaries Murray was this year in a lot of statistics looking through today.

He had a terrible, terrible year.

Especially by his standards.

I've repeated it a few times in a few threads, but I am absolutely sick of this idea that everyone in the squad is a goose except for our prized king Murray who can do no wrong. Sick of this idea that Murray just wins MOTM/Members choice awards by default whenever he plays regardless of what he does.

He is the least of our problems cause he is extremely talented and well mannered, yes, but he had a trash year. Well below what we know he can do. It's okay to say that.

Feel free to correct me on this but we haven't kicked a 40/20 in 3 years. Last time was 2021 when Reynolds kicked 3.
The only one we got was in the Charity Shield 2022 when Lachlan Ilias kicked a 20/40.

Reyno blew one in the GF‘s dying minutes in 2021 by overstepping the 40m line by millimeters
Haunts me every time I see a team kick one

He didn't seem a happy chap this year. Gave away a lot of stupid penalties.

It does amaze me when you see how buggered he looks though at times throughout games, while Penrith blokes finish matches like they're ready to start another.... nothing to see there.

According to Fox Sports Lab, Cody Walker finished the season with 99 career tries and 199 career try assists.

I've been trying to see if I can find other players with a 100 try / 200 try assist double... Cooper Cronk is the only player I've found so far. DCE should get there too, with another 9 tries.

Cody looks even better when you consider he has played 212 games to Coopers 372 and DCE 327.

Cronk: 372 games, 101 tries, 341 try assists
DCE: 327 games, 92 tries, 292 try assists
Walker: 212 games, 99 tries 199 try assists

Cody is a seriously underrated try scorer.

99 tries in 212 games for a half? Mental.

I'm willing to wager that Murray probably had more errors/penalties given away than Keppie this year.

Go figure.

Cody is reasonably quick off the mark, add that to footy smarts and he's a deadly proposition in the opposition's 20. If he can stay injury free there still might be a few more years left in the old fella's legs to catch Cronk in both departments.
