The indigenous had no water proof dwellings, no food security, no medical help, low life expectancy, only had very primitive tools, life was harsh, next time its pouring rain in winter imagine being out in it with a young family or a baby and no clothes or shelter, i doubt any of them would put their hand up to go back and live as they did.
Even if the date was changed i bet the same crowd would still protest, its what they do best.

All completely irrelevant, doesn't relate to the topic and you have completely failed to address any of the points I raised. Why am I not surprised.
 
Because i done see your points as relevant, ok lets do it your way and have resentment , division and failure for the next 200 years, we as a country are best served with unity not divisions, or should i be still carrying a grudge for the Norman invasion in 1066?.
If you want to continue hand wringing for hurt feeling from 250 years ago i will leave you to it..

They had tools that obviously allowed them to survive and thrive long enough to be the oldest surviving continuous culture on the planet. It may have been harsh compared to colonial standards, it wasn't harsh to them, it was their way of life. And it was a successful one.

No they wouldn't, unless the new date we chose was a day celebrating an attempted genocide of a race of people who were invaded.

It's only been officially our national day since 1994, pretty sure if we change it the sky won't fall in. I don't know why people are so attached to that day. Choosing the day the first fleet planted the flag or whatever it was seems a pretty arbitrary choice.
 
Back to satire. Here are two blokes in the US buying South Sydney. Great article in the Tele today. I'll bet it appears in some newspapers in the US

I saw the twitter video by David Letterman and like the journo said, free marketing for us.
Since the Vegas games I've wondered and hoped that the name Rabbitohs would make us stand out from the crowd a bit.
