I've got a new rash

Where is the bias?, education wise they get more of a helping hand than anybody, health wise the same, career wise they do themselves no help by not attending school, employment wise the education standards limit opportunities , so please explain the bias.

Firstly please explain how you can generalise so easily by continually saying "they" as an entire race, and how youknow what each of them do or don't do in relation to health and education, attending school etc.

I'll be happy to explain the bias once you explain how you could possibly know what an entire race of blackfellas do.

Or are you making an ill informed conclusion based on race, as I suspect.

One example of the bias you have just clearly displayed.

I agree with everything you just said but the other side of the coin display this same bias.

Everyone behind #ChangeTheDate or #PayTheRent movements, for example, act as though they are speaking on behalf of the entire indigenous community. They ignore those in the community who don't see themselves as victims. Plenty of indigenous people don't view themselves as currently burdened by events in Australian history in any way.

Which is exactly why The Voice is a great idea, if set up correctly.

Then we woud know what the majority of indigenous feel about these issues via their direct involvement.

However, the vote for the Voice will fail because we have a PM incapable of presenting it with any detail or explanation on how it will work and/or benefit the lives of the indigenous in general.

Being an ex schoolie I would like to make a comment defending the education system. Now it could be that it just so happens that only the schools I was in did these things but i doubt it.
In a typical school
# you have an Aboriginal flag on the flagpole- every day
# EVERY assembly you had a 'welcome to country' delivered by an Aboriginal student.
# Every year you had a NAIDOC Day. As I have said before, I learnt soooo much about the FN life. Every year there was something new. One year we dug a hole in the ground, put in food and fed the school the next day.
# we have a week ( Reconciliation Week) at school just devoted to Aboriginal studies.
# being mostly a Year 3/4 teacher I taught Aboriginal history MANY times-Often with special visitors to talk to the kids.
# Every classroom would have Dreamtime stories and art.
# At the end of year presentation assemblies there were special awards reserved for FN kids. There wee special teachers assisting these students.
# I NEVER once experienced bullying toward a FN student because they were Aboriginal. Yes there was bullying for many and varied reasons.
# Actually as a child we had aboriginal kids- One was Roy Stewart- a son of Roy Stewart, a wonderful RL player for Gerringong. He was not picked on. We just did not see any difference. He was just another kid- part of the lunchtime cricket game.

The point is we are all Australian and all equal, and yes its generalizing re health and education mostly because of different situations re isolated communities but that is true for every race living in remote areas, graziers, shearers, musterers ect , and i dont pretend to know what any race do as you say , so the bias, please explain, the budget for the aboriginal community in this country amounts to around 30 billion last time i saw it or around 60k a year for every man woman and child, so can you politely explain your view of bias..

And let’s remember that we’re all friends on here and this is a safe space for discussion. Even if someone is way off base with your own views, talking this stuff out reasonably is part of the process.

So you admit you basically have no idea of what "they" do in relation to education and employment.
Fair enough.

On to bias.

Bias is assuming an entire race do everything identical in relation to education, employment etc.

Bias is assuming "they' all live in remote/regional areas while ignoring the populations of places like LaPa and Redfern and the rate of teen indigenous homelessness in these areas.

Bias is continually mentioning money and what is given to "them", which is something the government need questioning on in regards to whom they are allocating funds.

Bias is black people being refused rental properties, as exposed by ACA, while renting the same properties to white people.

Bias is so many people openly supporting Lang Hancock's racist speech in the 21st Century.

Bias is white people suggesting the indigenous should be fored to take a DNA test to prove their aboriginality before gaining access to welfare, while white people have to prove SFA to gain welfarre access.

Bias is turning a blind eye to the fact there are indigenous kids in the outback who have no access to medicine or clean fresh water, and accepting this as ok.

Bias is suggesting the Indigenous should in some way be "grateful" to England for their invasion because of all the wonderful modern things we brought to their lands, you know, those things they never asked for and never invited England to get involved with their country or culture.

Bias is refusing to recognise the murder, slavery, loss of land and identity they suffered via the UK Invasion.

Shall I keep going? I have over 200 years of instances to quote so I am happy to do so.

And before anyone pedals the white lie that there was no slavery..........

Your first comment is way offline, i worked with more aboriginals than most people as for education, its different for everybody, your line " what black fellas do " is so broad who knows what you meant.
You following lines on Bias?, well honestly how much of that Bias was earned?, if i owned a rental property i would be very very hesitant to rent to an aboriginal family, and if you think that is racist then everybody i know is racist, or is it just that Bias was earnt by trashing houses rented to them.
What about the reverse Bias of kids on communities being neglected or sexually assaulted but not removed from their dangerous homes?.
As for your line re the UK invasion?, tell me what year in the future will that not be an issue and we all just get on with it, 50 years? a 100 maybe?.
We can either move forward together or forever have this blame game and grief that comes from something 250 years ago, if it was me i would just want to get ahead.

Oh my good lord. You can't get much more racist than that.

Trashing houses rented to them? Been to Mt Druitt and parts of Campbelltown recently and seen the houses trashed by white families? No, I doubt you're concerned about those people.

I find your comments disgusting as it highlights the racism still around in the 21st century.

I am passionate about this subject and as such I won't bother replying further to you as it will only escalate and I don't want to see the thread ruined.

Hey i am telling you honestly, ask around your family ect, nobody i know and that includes aboriginal workmates would likely rent to an aboriginal family they didnt know closely, call it what you like but its a well earned bia

Unbelievable? You made an earlier post asking "where is the bias", and display the bias yourself?
How the hell are indigenous supposed to get ahead when a big proportion of society won't even allow them to rent. What about employment? People wonder why there are so many indigenous in jails. Well, racist rednecks won't give them half a chance.

Mate you call it what you like, i would gladly rent to and Indian, korean, Chinese, Taiwanese family but because of reallity i would be hesitant to rent to an Aboriginal family unless i knew them, if your aghast at that reallity is 90% or more Australians who own rentals would feel the same, its not about bias, its your property and its your responsibility to see it well kept, you look at statistics and make a decision based on fact not emotion, i wouldn't rent to a white family with a poor record either.
