I was actually going to post this on the music thread after I watched it yet again. One of my all time faves.
I rarely come across anyone who has actually seen it
I saw it at the movies when it came out, probably early 80's?
Have not seen it since.
In partial defence of Elvis films, there were four movies made before he got drafted and two of these -The Presley movies, they were all horror shows!
The Gladiators a new TV show,I can hardly wait.Fark.
Sorry off topic!
The original Star Wars was great IMO. That opening scene with the star destroyer that just went on and on, it absolutely hit an 8 year old boy's imagination in the right spot.My favourite movie of all time would be the original Time Machine with Rod Taylor. I was always fascinated with time travel so this movie just totally did it for me. Still watch it quite regularly.
A couple of other faves would be 12 Angry Men and Anatomy of a Murder.
Fave Xmas movie of all time is the original Miracle on 34th Street, it is just so charming.
Worst of all time would be any Star Wars movie, and both the old and the new Blade Runner.
The most recent Blade Runner was particularly bad and boring.
I think King Creole was his best movie. In partial defence of Elvis films, there were four movies made before he got drafted and two of these -
King Creole and Jailhouse Rock - are fantastic.
But yes from the early 60s onwards they were indeed horror shows
PS- I never watched CLOCWORK when I was young, as you would expect, but my brother had an album with the music. loved it.Django Unchained
Clockwork Orange
Don't Look Up
Anything with James Stewart
I think King Creole was his best movie.
As for his later movies, Flaming Star wasn't too bad.
I love tho old noir films like the ones Bogart & Bacall starred in. The Big Sleep & To have and have not
if you also do I’m sure you’d love Body Heat. Kathleen Turner, William Hurt & Mickey Rorke….when he was good
It had it all; incredible storyline, great acting, wonderful music (John Barry) beautiful cinematography and full of atmosphere (you could feel the suffocating heat and humidity of South Florida in the Summer).
Shyster lawyer Ned Racine (William Hurt) begins a passionate affair with Matty Walker (Kathleen Turner), wife of a wealthy Florida businessman (Richard Crenna). With the help of one of his criminal clients, bomb maker Teddy Lewis (Mickey Rourke), Ned hatches a scheme to kill Matty's husband so that they can run away together with his money. But complications build upon double-crosses, launching the hapless lawyer into a situation far more treacherous than he imagined.
