Will AJ be the greatest all time try scorer?

If Cody and Trell are around for the next 2-3 seasons he will do it easily

If we lose either he’s no chance

Without Latrell this year he scored 12 tries in 9 games. Since Latrell has joined us and been out when on the wing he has still scored more than a try a game.

We know both will be here next year. He could go within 30 tries by the end of next year. With that in mind even without Latrell he would get there. Saying he is no chance is just silly.

The only thing that stops him would be injuries. We have seen happen to Billy Slater.

But again, AJ has a better strike rate than Slater prior to his injuries.

Slater (prior to his 2 seasons of injury) had a 63% strike rate.

AJ’s 85%, over the number of seasons he’s played, is simply better than anyone you can think of in the modern game. He debuted early at 19 and has only had 2 minorly injury effected seasons to date (still played 15 games).

He’s scoring tries at the same rate as Blacklock, but he only played 142 games across his career (AJ is at 180+ games and only 27).

He’s in a league of his own, hence why he’s the guy that’s going to break the record.

At his current rate, it should be at around his 250 game mark - circa 2025 - age 30.
