One would think consecutive surpluses for the 1st time on 20 odd years would be doing their bit.
Govt still seems to be borrowing.

Andrew Forest has slashed 700 jobs, in other words he is finding out cheap renewables are not at all cheap despite the govt pouring in 8 billion tax payer dollars to make his dream reality, the country has gambled a lot on renewables , shutting down many coal fired power stations in the progress, baseload power is a must, we are in big trouble in the years to come.

Esteemed economist Judith Sloan says that coal-fired power stations are the cheapest way to generate electricity.

 
 
Cafes, barbers and ladies hairdressers. It’s the default business option for people with no other options 😆😆😆

where I live, there’s 19 cafes all within a 500m walk of each other AND a new one opened last week. I suppose they expect to do it better than the others and survive😆😆😆

1) cost to build is large
2) Banks not willing to lend for the development of coal fired power stations.
3) Australia's coal fired power stations are at or close to end of life.

That is the reality.

Brrr max temp of 13c forecast for sydney today, anyway if coal is out then we need gas or nuclear.
