Without a doubt John Curtin socialist and trade union supporter.activist!
War time is when a countries mettle is on the line.
Curtin became PM when the Conservative party crossed the floor and voted themselves out of office.Their leader the monarchist Menzies resigned his army commission in WW1,so there was nothing new there!
Churchill who had a reputation for wasting colonial troops had been instrumental in the debacle of Gallipolli.After the fall of Singapore which had been financed to a large degree by Australia and New Zealand Australia had near zero soldiers to defend us against the battle hardened Japanese troops who were in force on the north side of New Guinea.
Curtin appealed to America to help us and also for our top divisions to be sent back to OZ.
Churchill baulked at losing such good troops and refused.Curtin insisted and Churchill who was mates with President Rooseveldt reluctantly agreed.Unbeknown to Curtin Churchill ordered the troop ships to change course and head for Burma.The ships carrying the divisions weaponry were still heading for OZ.So our blokes would arrive in Burma and throw rocks at the sons of Nippon.Curtin was pissed off and told Churchill to get stuffed.The troops were redirected to OZ and stopped the Japs well and truly at Milne Bay,the first time they had been defeated in WW2.
Curtin had the same size balls as Clive Churchill.
 
It always annoys me that Churchill was happy to see the Japs invade the northern parts of Aus down to a line just north of Brisbane i think it was.

And that is why Curtin had to bring our troops back, Churchill did not want to release our troops to protect us. We would have been sitting ducks if he had got his way. Well done Curtin. It was then that we found out who we could & could not rely on.

Churchill didn’t have any probs with handing us over!
Roosevelt is on record as sayin” we can’t let a European country fall into the hands of barbarians”
When Churchill overruled Curtin and turned the convoy toward Burma Curtin hit the roof.
Something else was that when our soldiers were finally turned back to Australia,the bastard Churchill in a fit of pique said we can’t spare any Royal Navy escort.
And so the Seventh division had no protection from the Royal Navy to get safely back to OZ.Churchill referred to Curtin as a “second class man”I refer to Churchill as a Pommy bastard!
Roosevelt was not impressed with Churchill because of his aristocratic ways!
They weren’t exactly friends!

How do you rate Albo?, i mean he has a record!, highest immigration ever, hmmm but i have not worked out how 600,000 migrants a year is going to help his blue collar base, any new hospitals or dams built lately?, new highways?, how is the price of electricity going?, for mine John Howard is the best PM in the last 50 years.

I rate him as a fraud, all the issues hurting the working blue collar voter are made worse by Albo, insane immigration numbers at a time of a housing shortage, the same mass immigration will hold down wages, the same with working visas , Bowen is crippling the country with his renewable energy obsession thinking we can change the worlds climate, does he realize how many coal fired plants India and China are building?, honestly who is now better off under Albo.?

Never voted LNP so I'll admit to a healthy bias.
John Howard was the worst PM. Even his own party called him a lying rodent.
Hell of a politician though.
 
In what way was he poor Kent?, i think he did a great job.
