Injury & Judiciary Reports

Yeah great idea, worked a treat with CG

Let’s f$&k him for next season as well

We aren’t winning the comp this year. No chance

Let’s just get everyone right for next season when Wayne arrives and our premiership window reopens briefly

The top 4 teams are all weaker next season, let’s not be the same
We aren't winning the comp is your opinion. Some of us haven't given up on this season and if he can get back on the field he needs to be there. This comp has no team that are currently screaming favourites. We keep winning and we have as good a shot as anyone. If our medical team are confident he can play then I'll back them. He could quite easily be rested then come back and be injured in pre-season training.

Remember not to conflate the suspensions with the injuries.

If we’re going to kick off on a ‘Latrell misses too much footy’ rant, let’s at least keep things factual.

Regular Season Games Missed:

2020 - 4 (Injured Hammy)
2021 - 5 (Susp)
2022 - 1 (Susp) 9 (Injured Hammy)
2023 - 2 (Susp) 7 (Injured Calf)
2024 - 3 (Susp) + TBD (Injured Foot)

5 Seasons
11 Games Suspension = 2.2 per season
20 (+ Current Foot Issue) Games Injured = 4 per season (and counting)

Add Origin and any finals missed on top of that.

Not ideal, but to date (as we don’t know the extent of this foot issue), the 2022 hamstring and the 2023 calf have been the big impacts. Those and the 2021 dual suspensions v Tigers and Roosters.

Look on the bright side. At least he’s not re-injuring the same injuries.

Just on the Campbell Graham sternum injury. Would any other NRL team have sent him for early surgery or would they have gone through the same process as our medical team ? I'm not saying it was the right choice because I like probably everyone on here am no expert, but from everything I've read the operation was the last resort and he couldn't really have done more injury to it through continued playing. They were hoping a rest after our season would have done the trick as is the norm with many cases of that injury, but as we now know it was more complicated than expected.

I have to say the silence from the club in regards to Latrell’s injury is something we have come to expect. I get them wanting to leave it until something is confirmed. But now that it has hit the media you would like them to at least say something.

Probably the worst diagnosis would be Lisfranc injury as historically it can turn into months instead of weeks out. Until a couple of seasons back I’d never even heard of it but now it’s turned into one of the most difficult injuries to fix.
Fingers crossed it‘s something else in this case.

Staggering that some think we should just give up. Thank God they’ve got zero input into the running of the club

Come on bundy, the depth of knowledge of the pride members surpasses anything that a medical specialist would have.
Imagine a medical expert declaring an operation is a last resort but pride members demanding it go ahead as they want to win a game of footy…….over and above the players welfare🥴🥴🥴🥴

So one minute we can’t win a game due to injuries and the roster we are fielding, the next minute the same roster can win the comp

How good are gummies!

The injury consistency, (bad luck), with our season would suggest another long term injury, but someone who was at the game posted that Trell didn't have a moonboot on when he left the game. Also he apparently was movement hampered but he did finish the game. I am hopeing that it is a only strain and out for 3 to 4 weeks. That would be an OK outcome.

Ah another of the we are losing because of injuries brigade, who suddenly have amnesia now we have won a few

Did you ever think giving Gray and a few more of the youth brigade more game time actually puts us in better stead for next season

Again if anyone thinks due to beating a group of mid to bottom teams suddenly makes us premiership heavyweights they need to lay off the pipe.

And if we aren’t going to win the comp this year, which we aren’t, let’s get things and players right for next year when;

Penrith lose JDH and Luai
Roosters lose Manu, Keary, Sualli and JWH
Reynolds is another year older at the Broncs and unlikely to get through the season
Melbourne tread water

The next three years are perfect for a title tilt if we get a right winger another big middle and as a luxury a big athletic edge

Let’s not f$&k a real premiership season by playing a marquee on needles out of desperation

Go back a find my post when the injury was first common knowledge. My mate who is on the Wallabies medical staff and highly regarded said there’s no way he’d play him all season on needles. No way and I posted that
He actually said it’s borderline negligent, to inject that area for that duration

He needed an operation as continued contact to a contact injury exacerbated the injury itself

Most clubs have more than one outside back who can do hit ups, so they could of rested him until he healed

CG was JDs work horse, he had no one else for yardage so he played on the kids toughness until he totally f$&ked him

And you’d still be happy if he was the coach

Go figure

That is a very good point. There is some significant change next year with those top sides, whilst we have roster problems, it was never a bottom 4 roster and the coaching one was bigger so with that fixed, hopefully a tweak or 2 roster wise can get us swinging in September again next year.

Nice rant but once again, factually incorrect.

Get as far as you can in the competition you’re in (without being wreckless with player health).

Next year is an unknown. For all we know Walker, Mitchell, and Wighton go down with season-enders early and we don’t fire a shot. Cory retires, you go on a lean run, and sit back in 3 years and wonder how far you may have got had you tried in 2024.

I don’t realistically think we can win the comp.

But making the finals is still a distinct (albeit still far fetched) possibility.

There isn’t a player in the squad that doesn’t want to play finals this year (as per the effort shown).

Go back 2 months and everyone assumed our season would be over in a fortnight.

You can’t underestimate the positive impact of a happy, high performing dressing room. We have that right now. Following our lowest eb in maybe a decade.

When Trell is fit to play, bring him back. As long as you are able to make the finals, keep Arrow in the side. If you get to round 23 or so and still have a solid chance of making finals (and he’s healthy), bring Campbell back.

If we lose a couple coming up, then people get their wish and we go full 2025 planning.

As an aside, great that Gray gets some more first grade. People don’t like to look at it this way, but he’s currently auditioning for a starting spot in the line up (Dodd is probably the guy he needs to beat out) or perhaps as a 14. So he has plenty to gain from this cameo, regardless how long or short it is.

He’s also much better than Taafe, so who knows how far we go with him at the back, if 2021 is anything to go by.

This run reminds me of the Knights that year Bennett got them to the Prelim. They were decimated with injuries and they kept piling up and they just kept winning.

And I’ll reiterate. If you can pull off the miracle and make finals, then yes, you can win the comp. Because to get there, you’ll likely be in better form than any team in the comp.
