2025 Injury and Judiciary

Hey everyone,

As the discussion begins to shift towards 2025, it's a good time for this.

This is part of a little bit of an update we are undertaking on the Pride, new threads for all the main topics. These will all work similar to the old threads, but just updated for 2025, and we will make a new one each year from now on. Just makes things easier to navigate historically moving forward.

Please discontinue using the old thread, and post here if you can.

Hopefully we don't have to use this thread anywhere near as much as we did in 2024. I really, really hope that's the case anyway.
It’s sad you made this yesterday and we are talking about it already this subject.

Please Cam be ok and only 3 months out and not the 5 months.

What kind of wrist injury equals 5 months out? That seems wild. I broke my wrist when I was younger and was in a cast for 12 weeks and from memory even that was considered longer than usual.

**** me dead I can’t we can’t enjoy a week or 2 without injuries. Over it.

The only positive I can take out of is the massive break he’ll get and that its not an injury related to his explosiveness or tackling. Plus if he is a Round 4-6 starter, hopefully we’re a good team in 25 and he can be fresher when the whips are cracking.

Otherwise…no other club has picked up the amount of left field injuries and extreme of injuries that we have in the last 12 months. Has anyone seriously heard of a ‘scapholunate’ prior to 5 mins ago or of a wrist injury being anymore than 8-10 weeks??

Murray sustained a scapholunate injury. He will see a surgeon next week upon his return to Sydney.

The injury may require Murray to undergo a scapholunate reconstruction which would see him undertake an extensive period of rehabilitation.

The Rabbitohs will provide an update once Cameron has seen a surgeon and received a final diagnosis and a plan has been established for his rehabilitation and recovery.

Sounds like wrist ligament damage. I was hoping this was a fracture when I first heard about it. I've had both and ligament damage is much worse. There's also a chance of nerve damage which I had and I've never had the same strength in my wrist since that injury. I just saw that it is in fact the same injury as mine. I fell off my motorbike directly onto my hand causing the damage and yes it took many months to get right as it also affected a nerve in there. I had acupuncture which certainly helped with recovery.

Just googling it if it’s a reconstruction it’s about 4-5 months

What is the recovery time for scapholunate ligament reconstruction?

You will be in a cast for 4- 6 weeks at which time you will return to the office for follow up. Once your cast has been removed you will be transitioned into a removable splint and occupational therapy will be initiated. Full functional recovery takes approximately 4 to 6 months.
