It’s a big enough blunder that anyone involved in making the decision should be joining JD in the unemployment queue

We need middles, and better depth in the backs and second row etc……

Hopefully Wayne can turn us around quickly we do have an ageing roster though

Hindsight is such a wonderful thing.... a saying I once heard which is now a favourite:
"We are all Billionaires with hindsight"

The biggest blunder was appointing a rookie coach and expecting him to develop a rookie 7. Had we had a more experienced and capable coach, Ilias may have developed into a quality 7 and this thread wouldn't be on its way to a record size where we have to read the same crap over and over again.
 
the reyno gamble will never be solved. one week we were justified the next we werent. this week his season ending injury says we were justified in letting him go last week we werent haha

Well I guess for the next 12 weeks there won’t be too much debate. This game can be cruel sometimes.

I know he had his heart set on playing 300 games. Only 20 games from that now, but with his body that seems such a long way off.

We were justified in letting him go. He is held together by scotch tape at this point.

We screwed up royally by not having an adequate replacement.

If you're going to release a favourite son halfback, you better have a Cooper Cronk ready to replace him.

Speaking of Cooper Cronk when a coach has a player of that calibre offering to come and help coach the halves you take it. JD great bloke, but as stubborn as a mule in his coaching ways.

JD backed his ability but failed to understand NRL is not reserve grade and perhaps he thought because he won comps before he knew what it takes to be successful in NRL.

Sadly he and we are in a dark place with no sign of light. :cry::cry:

Madge and his stubborn ways saw him fail and sacked. The same for JD. Both of them great guys to talk to but make the same mistakes as a coach. Not listening to those around.

Not saying they have the same coaching techniques. Quite the opposite in that sense. Just that they their stubborn ways was their downfall.

Interesting. I had asked why we did not have someone in to mentor the halves. Things might have been different.
