2023 State of Origin

Probably, but gee I couldn't agree with that at all.

Just watching on the field you can see how he leads and others look to him.

Not bagging Yeo, I think he is a very good player but I don't see him as a natural leader like Cam.
Cam should be the captain and starting lock. This was very evident in game 3. I’m with you there. Just concerns me when Alexander was making excuses for Yeo and suggesting he will be starting lock when Cleary is back.

Well with any luck Brandy won't have any involvement with selections.

Even if they don't punt Fittler they have to make some changes and remove people like him.

Personally I think playing 29 games in the 2nd row qualifies someone to be selected in that position in a Souths best of origin team.

Perhaps we can let it go now?

Even if only 4 of those 29 games were for Souths? Look a little deeper into those stats - do your homework more diligently and you'll find it was only 4 for us, the rest for Norths for a bit before he returned to the front row where he belonged. If you know anything at all about Muzza, you'll know he's not a second rower. He filled in there at best. He would tell you that himself. He was a genuine hooker back when they actually hooked for the ball and then an out and out front rower or middle as we say nowadays.

No, I would suggest you pay closer attention to the content of the original post, perhaps a little more diligently.

It was never proposed that any player must have played the position for Souths, here is Ppls first mention of it:

Combined Souths-only Origin team off the top of my head.

That is clearly Souths players who played Origin.

Fenech played Origin, he has played 29 games at 2nd row, he clearly qualifies. You're better off admitting you're wrong, leaving it alone and just copping it that you got this one wrong.

Seriously, please leave it alone, it's getting a little cringeworthy for you.

It's okay to be wrong, we've all been there.

The hard part is admitting it.

Rubbish. Mario played Origin as a hooker. 29 games (mostly for Norths) out of nearly 300 doesn't qualify him as a second rower at all. That is such nonsense. I was wrong only about saying he never played 2nd row only because I had no memory of it but still very much correct in laughing loudly at the assertion that Mario should be in the second row ahead of Ben Teo or any other genuine backrower!

You are just taking sides out of personal bias owing to our history on here so I take anything you say with little to no validity. Now, don't drag it out more than needed and move on yourself pal.

Nobody said or suggested he didn't, and it has nothing to do with the topic.

29 games is essentially a full season's worth of games. Why do you feel you have the right to exclude a season's worth of experience as a 2nd rower? Would you also like to exclude Craig Wing's inclusion as a centre considering he only had 7 games as a centre?

Selecting such a team, or any best of team, is a matter of opinion, why the need to speak about the opinions of others in such a condescending manner? It's fine to disagree, but I don't get the need to ridicule the opinion of others, laugh at them and talk down to them.

What history? I disagree with some things you say and agree with others. No different than any other poster I exchange opinions with. And I am not taking sides, I am expressing an opinion that a player who has been selected at least 29 times to play in the back row is capable of filling that position, unless of course the coaches concerned were wrong every time they selected him there.

so I take anything you say with little to no validity. Now, don't drag it out more than needed and move on yourself pal.
Couldn't care less what you think of me and my opinion, but I will continue to correct you when you post blatant inaccuracies.

I actually feel sorry for Brandy. I’m convinced and got the clear impression that’s when he’s fronted the media over origin he was forced to defend a lot of Fittlers decisions which he may not have been in total agreement with.
He’s an advisor not selector

If Tedesco is not in form next year and he's not selected, would Murray or Yeo be the skipper?
Based on what I saw in game 3, it will be Cam Murray.

He was VERY vocal, leading the chat in both the huddle pre-game and a number of the huddles during the game.

Tedesco seemed to take a step back from it.

Mucho respectfully disagree.

From all his interviews I get the impression he has his hands all over it and maybe even dominates in some ways.

Truth is probably somewhere in between.

How hard is it to have civil conversations with people? Seriously.

This is not taking anyone's side, or singling anyone out, this is a message for all fellow Pridesters.

Can we please try to be a bit kinder? Seriously, it's not hard. Totally fine with disagreements and trying to prove your point, but just do it in a civil manner. It's something that really doesn't take much and it's not hard to do. No one deserves to be insulted because they have a different opinion to you.

We are all one big online family one here. We all support the same thing, we all want the same thing. I see it as something that unites all of us So why all the hate?

I understand it's not always going to be one big happy family, it's a forum but at least a bit of effort from everyone to at least try and be civil. It's really frustrating to come on here after a long day at work and have to read through pages and pages of childish bickering with people constantly trying to one up each other. I think I speak for many members when I say that.

I just don't understand why disagreements always turn into bickering, I really don't. I don't know, maybe I just have a different mindset. But please, just try to be adults about it.

As I said, by all means disagree. By all means discuss. But keep the name calling and personal abuse out of it. If everyone made just that little bit more effort to be a bit better, this already great forum could become even better.

Again, not singling anyone out. This is a message to everyone. Be better.

No doubt in my mind that the best thing to do with Origin would be to play it over three weeks and pause the NRL over that time. Simple as that. However, I could cop Wayne's suggestion of a three-week Origin period but the NRL carries on. I think that's probably the most likely thing to happen.

Blah blah blah. My opinion is that Mario was never a genuine second rower and that anyone who knows anything about football would also agree. You are just trying to stir things up by keeping this now old argument afloat and distorting what's been said to suit your muck raking agenda. I had immediately self corrected where I was mistaken - and you have lied about that - so keep your so called "correction"/trouble stirring to yourself.
