I have a feeling the Warriors are about to go on a golden run.

What a signing!!

JFH epitomises what the top clubs get right but we get wrong.

Penrith signed him as an 18-year-old from New Zealand - he was not in their backyard.

Penrith know that from HM all the way to First Grade you have to have good forward packs. The best forwards have to be coming out of your pathways - they allow the spine in the lower grades to develop their game and then they become the backbone of first grade.

We have done the opposite - routinely field small, inadequate forward packs that cannot prevent the opposition from toweling them up.
I get there is no guarantees but surely if you can identify a player even half to 3/4s the ilk of JFH you find the money to house him and school him and whatever else. That seems to be the clubs concern or the welfare of moving them from home but again back yourself in to provide the right environment. Get Issac and Roy to be a support for them, hire a Polynesian Support Officer or the like etc

yep...this is what the Roosters do. They have bought some units in Kensington and house their interstate or overseas players there whilst they are going through their pathways. It is a no brainer. There is no shortage of funds - especially from our owners - to do exactly the same.

The Warriors playing to their strength, players who love NZ and want to make a life there.

It will be a step replacing Johnson, but there are plenty of options there. And if the team is playing good fundamentals footy, it makes a half entering that system’s (or taking a step up in the pecking order) job so much easier.

Remember when Dane Gagai signed with us out of nowhere? Those were the days...
For me it was when Dave Taylor left, and everyone was a bit bummed, then almost instantaneously we announced the Ben Teo signing! It dawned on me that we were one of “those” clubs now, that elite players want to come to and signed whoever we needed to make the squad better! I miss those days!

I promise you if I ever win 100m powerball this will be my gift to Souths 🤪

Seems to be a lot of player signings happening at the moment.

We are in desperate need of some good players

I really thought the Warriors were going to be like the Cowboys were last year. Not manage the expectations. Now I have to start thinking of them as a real threat of a premiership over the next couple of years.

They got a quality coach, similar to Madge when he first started coaching us.

Not many rated their roster last season, they had some close losses this season as well.

Webster had our roster, sky would be the limit

I do really hope the Warriors sign Cleary post SJ. JFH’s acquisition only helps that possibility.
