Our owners have previously said that they would provide us a setup that would allow a Top 4 position each year (they never promised premierships, it was to provide the opportunity to win them). They have mostly done that. It is up to the coaching staff to then use what has been provided. Ironically our collapse has corresponded to our move to Heffron.

yes but is Api a beach sprint champion!
 
Just on Api, he has moved around but gee he has played some great footy for 11 seasons now and collected 3 rings I think.

Perhaps it is a result of a decade of being good and building a brand. However we do not have the dynastic tally of premierships to show for it - like the Storm, Roosters and Panthers do over the last 15 years. We are like the Cowboys, Sharks, and Dragons that have had our 10 minutes of glory before pissing it away.

We play at a stadium miles from our home and where our fans want to go, we take multiple games a year away from Sydney, our administration has strayed from investing in the football team. Bennett has a history of leaving teams in bad positions as he takes total control of the football operations, this wasn’t meant to be the case at Souths, but in his wake there is a clear power vacuum with no clear plan in player development or new signings that fix problems.

As long as the current administration are more concerned with making money and looking good as a corporate entity, we are not going to be winning premierships, which is what this club should be aiming for, and doing.

1 little annoying fact is that MCB has been a life long Rabbitohs supporter.

Oh and James Packer fell out with the Roosters power brokers and no longer supports the Roosters.

Apart from that though…

Yep and in the last few years they have signed Sualli, Smith, Young, May and Lenui to try and convert.

During our run we didn’t sign one first grader after Trell

Nothing fortunate about it they moved on Pearce, SKD and the rest of the party boys and brought in what they needed

Like I said get rid of Cook, get a left centre and two big athletic wingers we convert a couple of those almosts. Instead we sat on our hands waited until we were outside the 8 then pay $850k for a left centre largely so he can try get the best out of Trell

I haven’t seen any photos of him in a Souths jersey as a kid

Happy to stand corrected, but I don’t even think he was a league fan until he bought in
 
We have some rich backers but are they going to pull their wallets out though when needed.

Right now our current coach needs to be sacked and paid out of his contract, then spend money finding a new coach
 
rusty is the driver with the passion no doubt.
mcb wants nothing to do with the limelight and stays right away but was a childhood fan. packer is rustys mate and just owns his share as a favour to hando(by buying out phac) . hando is the driver behind both these guys. he spins a good yarn but is no longer an a lister or big money earner hence the needed support of the other 2

Again where is your information coming from that MCB is a childhood fan?

I’ve seen him twice in the Qantas lounge the last 6 months and both times he was in an American basketball cap not even a Rabbitohs one

My information was he wasn’t, but presented with facts I will stand corrected

He bought in to help with better publicity in the telegraph as he wasn’t getting much during his purchase of AGL

thats because hes a part owner of the utah jazz. has been for a while and dare i say prob spends more time in and around that club. he does live in point piper though when in oz.
