2023 Finals: Other Matches

By south’s fans, absolutely. But by the time he’s done, by the casual fans of most other clubs.. not sure.
It depends on his Bronco career.

If he wins say 3 comps with Brisbane, the fuss over 2014 will fade as he was not the star of the game. The Legend of how Sam Burgess played will, or has, far over ridden anything Reynolds did in red and green in 2014, justifiably.

So yeah, if he wins 3 comps with the Broncos he'll be far better remembered for his Brisbane career.

Either way, he's achieved/will achieve a hell of a lot over his career.

I’m expecting Penrith to take a similar game plan into the GF as they did against us in 2021

Just bomb straight down the middle and absolutely rag doll Walsh like they did to Taaffe

While JFH and Leota go after Haas.

I also don’t think they will let Adam play in his dinner suit two weeks in a row

What an awful result for the GF, there is no winning in this one.

If Penrith win we have to put up their arrogance and Luai acting like a tossbag and having to watch them celebrate 3 in a row.

If the Broncos win, well, enough said, and we'll have to listen to an endless circle jerk about Reynolds despite the fact most of what they've done has been on the back of Walsh this season.

Is there any way they can punch each other stupid and finish in a tie?

Second GF in a row I won't bother to watch, what a boring GF it will be.

Oh well, see you all next year.

Stay safe over Christmas and New Year.

Got to laugh at people trying so hard not to give Reynolds credit for where the Broncos are simply because they can't and won't admit the club is the one that made the mistake and how it blew up in the clubs face.

So much spite and anger pointed in the wrong direction to help you sleep better at night when we all know you're tossing and turning over it still.

Lets hope the club learns from it's error.

That's the only thing we can hope to get out of it but it's history repeating like with Keary

Never, ever give up good halves.

It's the one position you can play when you're old, washed, grey, injured, tied together with match tape.

It's the one role you can dominate into your 30s.

It's the role where experience, game sense, and 'reps' matter above all else.

I hope to never see South Sydney give up a real halfback ever again.

Let alone a ****ing Souths Junior and club captain.

Disgraceful decision.

No disrespect to Coach Walters as he seems like a really nice guy, however I can't seem to give him the credit for Brisbane's success. I feel Reynolds and even more so Walsh have raised them to a ridiculous level, especially in attack.

They have the best overall roster in the comp in my opinion, and yeah, that's arguable.
Either way, hell of a roster.

Reynolds is good, as he was with us, he is super safe and consistent, and can manage a game but is not a match winner and would not have been able to take the Broncos any further, he's never had that JT, Cronk, Johns magic that owns games, Walsh has led them to that next level.

He is ridiculously good, a freak. He literally turns absolutely nothing into 6 points every game, I can't wait to see how much more he develops, it's a scary thought.

The Broncos should thank Souths for Reynolds because he dragged them up to the level of a competitive side who can compete for the Top.

Then they should thank the Warriors because Walsh has taken them from competing for the Top 4 to very likely Premiers.

At this stage I don't feel like I can watch it, us missing the 8 is still too raw and yeah, not over it yet.

But.............

If I change my mind and watch it the main reason will be to be able to see Luai's face on the losing end of a GF.

Brisbane have incredible strike power and X Factor, I am not sure Penrith will handle that.

My early tip, before teams are selected, is Brisbane by 12.
I can live with that as opposed to seeing Penrith win again.
I want Penrith to lose.

I’ve solved the GF issue by visiting your avatar. Will be sleeping in Yosemite when the GF goes down. No-one even knows it’s on over here :)

Nothing like Keary. Keary wasn’t a mistake. Walker is a better player than Keary is. There we at least had a ready made replacement.

The biggest loss for us with Adam isn’t necessarily on the field but off it. That is where he is so valuable for the Broncos.

I think the riff will outplay and out coach the bronks.

If the riff play great they win, for me they have more talent and Ivan is some coach. He and his son will know exactly what they need to do to nullify the strike of the bronks.

Who handles the pressure best will be vital.

Good luck to both teams, it will be a cracker of a match.

To me the issue is not Adam Reynolds.
Penrith are the most unsporting team in living history.😡
I hope that Adam has an absolute blinder and most of the Penrith turds are carried off on stretchers.
Yes we all know Penrith are a good team, watch the Broncos are they sledging all game?
Did they behave like a bunch of turds when they won.
I saw that bunch of Penrith turds turn their back on our captain Reyno who had came over to congratulate them after a Penrith finals win!
I don’t forget that shit.Never will.
Go Broncs.

Keary had one poor season and was also injured during that season and so was reynolds.

Keary was playing half back and he is a way better five-eighth than half back.

Walkers stats might be better but he did have padded stats that made him look better as an individual player but it didn't translate to wins for us

For example we could be losing 30 to 12 with 10 mins to go and walker would get 2 try assists at the end of the match to make it 30 to 22 at full time.

Like Nathan Merritt being top try scorer but only scoring tries at the end of the game that had no effect on us winning games.

At the end of the day, we have won no premierships with Walker, Roosters have won 2 with Keary.

People will say it's all Cronk, yeah he was the icing on the cake but Keary also played a massive part in them winning those comps and the difference between the two is Keary would'nt crack under pressure or go missing in games.

He is a clive churchill medal winner and has 3 premiership rings.

If i was to pick a player to play supercoach, Walker every day of the week.

If i was to pick a player for real life, I would pick Keary.

Would have liked to have seen more of Reynolds and Keary combo.

On Friday night in about the 60th minute Cleary got tackled with the ball on the 5th.
When he got up he had a bad, bloody cut on his eyebrow and he started walking towards the Storm goal line with the ball held out in front of him.
My reaction live was, "what's wrong with him? Is he concussed?"
Then a replay shows a head clash.
My question is why wasn't he given a HIA?
For those of you with Kayo it's definitely worth a look. They show it on the mini too if you want to find it quicker.
Would love to hear everyone's thoughts on it.
Totally agree. Why no HIA?
They want Cleary in the GF!!!

I agree with everything except your predicted result.
I think Penrith will target the Broncos right side defence as I think there’s a chink there.
Also, as great an influence Walsh is, he could also be the weak link if Penrith target him. Sounds strange, but challenge him early in the air and if Penrith score and sledge him, you never know what happens.

All fair points.

Yes, I spotted that right side as well . I expect Edwards to run amok out there.

Interesting from last nights game is that the supposed best 5/8th in the game was very poor but it seems there’s zero comment about it.
our blokes have a quiet/average game and they torn from pillar to post with every aspect of their game put under the microscope

That’s not it at all. Walker does things very few players can do. Walker has been responsible for winning many games for us over the years.
People will say it's all Cronk, yeah he was the icing on the cake but Keary also played a massive part in them winning those comps and the difference between the two is Keary would'nt crack under pressure or go missing in games.
Cronk’s coaching opened up Keary. Since he retired Keary hasn’t been the same player.
If i was to pick a player for real life, I would pick Keary.
Put them both on the open market and I know who would demand more attention.
