A terrific tournament by the Matildas who can take a lot of pride by their efforts.

They have done us very proud. It's very disappointing but what an achievement for the matildas and for soccer in this country. Kerr is an absolutely competitor.

The Tillies have done so much for Women's football and women's sport in general in Australia with such a brilliant tournament. They really captured the imagination of the entire country (and diaspora ) like few other Aussie sporting teams, men or women, have ever done. Amazing.

Congratulations to all the players, coaches and support staff for a wonderful tournament. Ya done us proud! (Does 3rd place really matter?)

England did play dirty, but they also controlled the game much better. Deserved winners, but the Matilda's did fantastic to go as far as they did.
