Who is your favourite South Sydney fullback of all time?

I am going to start a series of threads for discussion of our favourite Rabbitoh players by position and thought it would be a good idea to start with fullback.

I have always been fond of looking back over the great history of our Club and some of the contributors on this forum have quite the memory of players gone by. I always love reading the anecdotes of those in this community and I thought this might be a good way to bring forward some more memories.

The table below lists the top 30 players (by number of appearances) that played in the position of fullback at one time or another during their time at Souths.

Some, like Cody Walker, have only played a handful of games at fullback, but, I have left these individuals in the list below, as I did not want to meddle with the statistics as displayed.

There isn't a right or wrong answer to this question! It's not who is the best South Sydney fullback of all time, but rather, who is YOUR favourite of all time.

I am too young to remember Churchill (I have obviously heard all the stories) but it would be hard for someone like me to say he is my favourite when I didn't see him play.
 
Some of the names on the list like McKinnon, Watts and Polglase bring back some dark memories... having said that, there's no denying for the three names I just mentioned that they did give it their all whenever they wore a red and green jumper. You can't say that about everyone from the reinstatement era.

Who else can remember Brad Watts' step on a kick return that never quite seemed to ever be able to beat a defensive line?

It doesn't look like he makes the top 30 by number of appearances.

Also, I thought it was a bit strange how Cody is listed as playing 20 games at fullback. Surely, he hasn't played 20 games at fullback? Maybe the Rugby League Project isn't as accurate as thought?

And Kevin Longbottom certainly played fullback at least 20 times. He played for Souths 105 times and mostly at fullback.

Some of those numbers are way off.

Ughh, yeah, it's disappointing the statistics aren't accurate. I thought that was a good website... @yobbo84 is there a better resource out there that's publicly available?
 
Never seen Clive C , so can vote to to who I have seen since my first game when Kevin Longbottom was fullback against Canterbury at the SCG in 1966.

Since then , GI at his peak would be my first choice.

One on One GI vs CC at their peaks , I cannot believe CC would have bested GI.
i.e. could Clive tackle an open running GI? The reverse most likely.
