Match Discussion Round 9: Rabbitohs v Panthers

That play by Manly from the scrum with the game on the line was as bad as it gets.

DCE 2 point field goal for golden point?

Missed it. The Raiders great comeback. Wish @yobbo84 could do what he did to Manly to our opponents. 😜

what a ridiculous comment

Just highlighting the fact he was really bad playing hooker.

Several times the ball was played and he wasn't even paying attention, passes a long the ground as well.
Poor tackling technique, always goes high and needs help with a tackle or comes in high as the second man but can't wrap the ball up when he does a lot of the time.
Spends a lot of time standing around the ruck after making a tackle instead of getting to marker or back into the defensive line.

Agree - we were in it for 60 mins. I thought the turning point was we regathered a bomb and looked likely to score and didn’t. The next set they did similar with a pretty flukey ragather to score.
Turning point for me was the referee. Now before you dismiss it as sour grapes, I am aware we got pumped 42-12 and made plenty of errors ourselves but…..

Up 12-0 we were all over Penrith. We were winning more of the collisions. The driving defence we haven’t seen for along time had returned some. Our blokes were ripping in with their shoulders. (Did help that they were down a man and under some pressure/fatigue).

The officials deadset managed them back into the match. How many repeat sets he gave them on our line before they cracked us for their first try, he may as well have scored the try for them himself! In the lead up to that he aslo ignored a knock on from the Penrith halfback, they scored soon after. They then binned Arrow for wrapping up the ball. Most of the time they call that a loose carry, no stripping motion, Arrow gets binned for it! Cam asked for a captain’s challenge, looked like the referee advised him that the call came down from the bunker official to sin bin Arrow! WTF!!! You can see him pressing his earphone in before he bins Arrow. It’s disgusting. They score again after Arrow is binned from a forward pass but could easily also be ruled as a knock on. Instead, they call play on. Try. Back to the narrative. Penrith score again to go into halftime with the lead. Referee ends up needing a security escort off the field at halftime.

I will give you a tip, if you need a security escort to leave the field as an official, you know you have had a shocker. But the thing is he didn’t. He did his job. Fair dinkum match manager! Corrupt as ****! 🤮 😡

Rant over.

So just to confirm - that’s MCK in the middle of screen about 20ms closer to the ball and then that’s Tass about 5m infield of May….. by the time Edwards got the tap May had made up the ground on both MCK and Tass and was ahead of them.
That’s a pretty poor efffort from both of them
Cody was there too. Some of Cody’s efforts, rather lack of effort on Thursday were terrible and alarming. It was as if once Penrith got ahead, he just lied down for the loss. I know that’s unfair to single him out, but that’s what it looked like to my eye watching at the game live.

Another poor effort example was one from Havili. The try where the back rower was in front of the kicker on the kick chase and ended up scoring the try. Watch Havili at marker. 😳 Job done coz it was the 5th and last apparently. 🤮

Don’t worry. Sonic loves laying the boot into Cook. It’s his favourite pastime. Very similar to Nifty on Walker.

It's not my fault he plays shit every week and is one of our worst players on the park.

His loyal fans are blind to it and rather try and throw shit on hooker that has played around 11 games of NRL

To be fair I think it’s justifiable this week. He was poor. I won’t bag him for his fullback role. Can’t expect too much of him there. But he wasn’t good the other night.

I really think the 200 game thing was a distraction to his concentration. That first drop ball when Cam sent it back to him hoping he'd scoot up the middle set the tone for the night. Whether it was adrenaline, trying too hard or just lack of concentration is anyone's guess. He was off and just couldn't refocus. All the shenanigans with JD and the added pressure on the team as a whole had to have an impact. He and his team mates can all say that it doesn't affect them but I call BS...it affected and consumed our focus and we are just supporters with no real direct involvement or ability to influence the outcomes.

20 metre re start by edwards . Doesn’t the ref ALWAYS make sure defending team is on side? How many times weekly do we watch games & the ref calls the player back when taking a quick tap
