News, General Articles and Discussion

Yeah, it’s really that simple.

Given the historic culture of the game, no team is going to win the NRL grand final, then get back to training Monday for recovery and prep for an international flight and a WCC.

Same as people can’t get their head around Origin at seasons end. It’s logical, but just falls flat.

I was thinking about the state of origin at the end of the season thing as I was really non-plussed about the pacific tests coming up but will almost certainly watch them.

If the state of origin is this fantastical goliath of gargantuan stature that we get told every single year, why would it matter when it was played?

Sandon Smith in trouble

Read it.

Doesn't seem much too it but let it play out in court I guess.

It is understood police will allege Smith was edging out of his driveway, where his view was obstructed by a parked truck, when another car hit him, and pushed him into a male pedestrian.

The man is understood to have suffered a grave injury to his foot as a result.

Though this bit could get Latrell another couple of weeks added to his suspension

It is understood the NRL was not aware of Smith’s charge at all until it received an inquiry about it from The Daily Telegraph on Thursday

The only ‘grave’ injury to a foot is one resulting in amputation. Anything less and you’re playing loose and fast with adjectives for clicks.

Edit: just read the details. ‘Degloving’. Ooft. ‘Grave’ usage deemed appropriate. Move along.

The other interesting tidbit left out of the headline - it happened in March?

Oh yeah I should have stated that it happened in March in my last part about the integrity unit only just finding out.

Shouldn't wear gloves on feet anyways.

Yeah, someone on Reddit (that bastion of internet truth) reckons they're mates with the victim and they allegedly lost their foot. Shit happens though, cars are death machines.

As Duff said though the biggest thing is it not being reported to the integrity unit.

Though I'm still waiting on a media release from the NRL announcing Addo-Carr's suspension. I mean, they were all too keen to make a song-and-dance about it with Latrell, but it's been radio silence with JAC.
