Likely Cup Side???

Was ilias positional change ever confirmed as a 9? I recall the article about being open for change.
Could we see him as a centre given our lack of depth there?

As they have not even started pre-season yet it’s too early to say. I’m sure all options are on the table for Lachie

Why would you announce a positional change?
It’s not a formal arrangement, I’d say they’ll try him out in a few positions, he might make a good 14 but I don’t think they’ll set anything in stone

The news was simply that he wouldn’t be the first choice halfback, and that that would mean he’d need to play second string 7/possibly cover at hooker. He’s cool with that. Wayne is cool with that.

I imagine Lachie will be up for playing wherever gets him a first grade jersey.

As someone who floated him as an unlikely centre option, a fair bit needs to happen to get there though. As Graham, Wighton, Tass, Mellars, Aitken and Mitchell would all likely get a centre jersey before him.

He might blow everyone away during preseason & trials including Dodd

It's good to remember that Lachie is 1.84 (touch over 6ft in the old scale).

I think he could potentially make a fist of the centre position, but he would need to be outstanding to leapfrog Graham and Wighton.

Possibly why everyone is thinking of him for the hooker role is that he's too good for reserve grade and our current options for 9 leave a bit to be desired. I'm not convinced that Pete is a first grade hooker and don't know enough about Humphreys to make a judgement.

He did play a lot of centre as a junior.
