Player Latrell Mitchell

We’ll, that’s people’s opinion.

I don’t see how you play 80 minutes of footy at the elite level for weeks at a time in one of the most demanding positions ‘unfit’.

But a focussed Latrell is good, so no complaints.
He is a big player and he does I believe, struggle with his weight.
For next season he has to be our FB and is clearly our best option there.
As he gets older, there has to come a time when he will have to relinquish that position.
Maybe 2026 or 2027 but it has to happen.

Loved that article to be honest and I agree with it wholeheartedly.

This is the biggest and most crucial year of Trell's career, and that includes the Pre-Season. As of right now, he seems to be doing all the right things. Getting proper fit, proper focused. If that turns out to be the case, watch out in 2025 because this guy will dominate if he can stay injury free.

Onya Trell, I can't wait to see what you give us next year.

The article, for anyone who missed it,

Just stopped off at Saltwater point on my way back from Lennox head, then proceeded through Taree

FMD what an outstanding job the Mitchell family have done promoting our club in their community

Seriously every car and nearly every person had some sort of Souths gear on.

Commented to the barista in the cafe that there’s more Souths gear on everyone up here than Redfern

Bloke behind me said yeah ‘ We got to support the Taree Ferrari ‘

I replied with’ yeah Shaq is pretty quick for a prop’

He cracked up and said he will tell his cousins that one next time he sees him

All that said. I hope the club continues to run clinics up there and scour this area for talent. There’s a serious love up the atm

Why the hell should this be a choice Latrell has to make? Amateur hour at the NRL once more
The ARLC continues to put their feet firmly in their mouths.

They could’ve let Latrell serve his suspension in the last round of ‘24.

There would’ve been the normal shit storm from the ****s at Limited News but it would’ve been over before the finals started.

Instead they’ve guaranteed more negative headlines into 2025, potentially stealing oxygen from the Las Vegas kick off.

It’s stupidity writ large.

I have a feeling the decision has already been made. Having Latrell serve his suspension for the All Stars game is a way for Andrew Abdo and the NRL to save face. They can look as though they didn’t buckle to the pressure from Blake and the club.

I think Latrell will put the club first and play round 1. Under Wayne, we will be moving in the right direction, and I can't see Latrell choosing to miss out on any of it, especially the first game. However, these 2 bandaid choices permit the NRL to evade the real issue and questions regarding Latrells suspension.
