Thanks for the reply Prowsey and I didnt take it personally... Sometimes things get a bit heated on blog type sites which certainly was NOT the case here by the way..... so when I joined Pride, I was prepared for some robust argy/bargy and I certainly stay away from ALL other social media ... but Pride appealed to me.
When I posted my original comment ... I will admit (just privy between you and me), I had imbibed 2 glasses of ... well not soft drink) and so I may have gone a bit hard from a one sided perspective....ok.
You know there is always an ... if or but coming ... so here it is ... and its a but...
What I dont get is ... when I read roster info, I see things such as ... Player option, club option etc....
So, if you are going to sign a contract, put escape clauses into it and then ... ok ... Maybe this does happen and media decides to put their sensationalist slant on things ... who knows.
But otherwise, again apart from e.g. compassionate considerations or genuinely mutual agreement, both parties should honor their contract ... clauses withstanding.
Personally, I used to be a contractor and never broke a contract. However I was once the party in a contract with a major bank. When the financial sector tanked ... decades ago ... on Christmas eve, myself and all other contractors were called together and told ... contracts cancelled effective immediately.... poor timing ...
We didnt even look into it ... couldn't afford to contest anyway ... but we all took it on the chin, understood the economic downturn in banking industry and walked away.
So that is things from my perspective...sorry about the extended soliloquy type reply. Tired fingers... signing off.
