John Stossel

"Even still, thereā€™s yet another way Koch buys denial, through contracts with people like John Stossel, whose production company was a top contractor for Koch, and whose recent climate disinfo piece attacking renewables was posted at Reason, which happened to get $1.2 million from the Charles Koch Institute in 2020. Stosselā€™s video features and appears to be largely based on Alex Epsteinā€™s oily disinfo, which was debunked by both anonymous climate scientist ā€œThe Disproofā€ on Twitter, and climate scientist Andy Dessler in person and online. In a tweet thread after a debate, Dessler points out that Epsteinā€™s data-free rhetoric is wrong about renewables increasing energy prices, disproving the ā€œenergy povertyā€ propaganda."
"John Stossel used to be a primetime TV host, on ABCā€™s 20/20. He sometimes made his colleagues uncomfortable when he blurred the lines between journalism and opinionated punditry. He liked to interview children for his segments, landing him in hot water when parents accused him of manipulating their kids in order to dismiss environmental concerns.
Stossel moved from ABC to the FOX Business Network in 2009. At FOX, Stossel continued to attack the validity of environmental problems. In 2016, Stossel left FOX for new ventures, including with the Charles Koch Instituteā€™s journalism fellowship program. Stossel continued to produce reassuring, paternalistic political videos on YouTube, called Stossel TV, via the Center for Independent Thought (CIT)."
