Latest Rumours

I’m worried about Trell attitude at the moment tbh he was good round 1 last week at times he looked like his mind was elsewhere it’s a worry.

We need Cody as well to get his confidence back both must lift. Cody pushing and shoving blokes and giving silly penalties and six agains away it’s not good enough

So we can get the same situation as we have now post Bennet.

Surely you are taking the piss.

Holebrook got the Tits to the finals and if they passed instead of throwing the dummy They would have progressed a week further.
That’s a great achievement in itself.

The Madge era is done and dusted.
The Bennett era was somewhat successful though?
He got us to within a whisker of 22 and some would argue that with Latrell in that team we probably beat Penrith that year.

I would be ok with short term success with Bennett and a succession plan that could work afterwards.

Holbrook's record at the Tits was 37%. Hardly anything to write home about. He may have got them into the finals in 2021 but JD got us to a Prelim in 2022 so you could argue JD is a better coach than Holbrook anyways.

Madge is still coaching at the top level and was good enough to be both the Kiwis and Blues coach in recent times, that says he still has something to offer.
He did get us 21 so i will always have a soft spot for him.

That is not correct. There was no option offered. Just a one year contract.

Not correct.

As recently as last week there were all sorts of high level discussions going on about how to try and restructure the Rabbitohs roster so the club could make Reynolds a two-year offer.

In the end the club held firm on a one-year deal with an option for a second in Souths’ favour.

That information is incorrect. I’ll take the word of who I was told by over an article like that. We never offered any such deal.

Fair enough, and I'll take the word of who told me, someone who would definitely know, plus the endless supply of reports at the time that reported this.

You are wrong mate I’ve heard from a source too but of course you’ll never admit when you are wrong we know that

Considering I have heard the same from both sides the exact same thing. There was no 2 year from either side. It was a year against 3 years.

Oh and the people who told me would also definitely be in the know.

Look I reckon Bennet is great and did nearly get us that premiership.

But to be honest if Sam is to come back I want him to do it off his own bat and through good results in the ESL and not through a progression plan.

I keep hearing the argument that we could have won with Latrell but Taffe was great under a tonne of pressure.

I personally think Latrell would have buckled under the kicking game that Cleary produced that night.

You can't go any higher in the Souths hierarchy then those who told me, I'll stick with them.

Really? So you’re suggesting that it came from RC. Funnily the people I have heard from were dealing directly with negotiations.

Assumptions from you. The hierarchy can be viewed a few ways, football, financial, recruitment, retention, so no, I have not suggested any individual or offered names. And I would appreciate it if you didn't try to put words in my mouth.

Wasn’t putting words in your mouth. I meant to put a question mark. But if you can’t go any higher in the hierarchy then it could only be RC or the other 2 owners. And I’m not sure they would be too involved with the dealings of player negotiations unless called upon.
