2025 Pre-Season

He has no taper from his armpits to his waist in that photo but he has 4 months it's week 1
I recently read an article on the baseballer Babe Ruth who always looked fat or at least really chunky. It was stated that he was very fit but had a 'barrel chest' which means that the lower ribs were a similar circumference to the upper ribs - ie no taper. An anatomical oddity. That body shape, it said, provided terrific upper body strength.

I think the athletic body shape convo directed towards Latrell is always a little unfounded.

Again, the guy has been supposedly ‘unfit’ according to plenty on here for 1-4 years now. Yet dominated in Origin and has at times, carried this team on his back.

If people want to say that his 3 different lower body injuries have been because of excess weight, you’re entitled to your opinion.

But looking at him there, that still looks a big frame for those legs to carry around, regardless if he ‘looks’ trimmer (which I also think people are making too big a deal of).

Hopefully he can stay on the park (and that’s as much a suspension hope as it is a heath hope).

Yeah, the characterisation of Ruth has been fairly distorted over the years. On the Mount Rushmore of baseball players, so if he was perceived as ‘unfit’, then so be it. Did a bunch of things next to nobody has done since and seemed perfectly formed to play the game.

Agreed.
Think he is the strongest of all the current nrl FBs.
With that sort of physique however, it means he has to carry extra kgs and as we have seen, sometimes this gets away from him a bit.
That is why I started earlier that he may only have 1 or 2 more years in him for that position...which is one of the most demanding positions in the team.
After that, 5/8 would appear to be the most suitable transition allowing him to still dictate the course of games.
GI also had a big barrel chest and great upper body strength but he did taper....but everyone is different.

Can see on Wighton insta he seems to be doing sprint training with Roger Fabri

Correlation doesn't mean causation but 5 consecutive half-finished seasons tells the story.

He is a freak footballer who can dominate any single game he wants to - and that's why he gets $1m a season.

But with our squad, we need him 24 times a year. Not 12-16.

With him likely making origin and being rested once or twice after origin you’re unlikely to get him for 24 games sadly.

Just watched the story up top on app from day 1 training intensity seems good.

How good are those training shirts @Callmack1 I might have to get one.
