Looking at the likes of Tyrone Munro and Haizyn Mellars coming through got me thinking of players that we got excited about.

What players over the years coming through the system didn’t quite work out the way you expected? Players that had hype about them from the either fans or the club. They either played a handful of NRL games or didn’t get to see any NRL.

Some names I was thinking of today:

Sam Huihahai
Troy Boston
John Olive
Kane Morgan
Tyrell Kalo Kalo

Maybe an out there choice as the Warriors seem to be massively overpaying him, but I do wonder how Dylan Walkers career would have panned out had he lost the attitude, got on better with Madge, stuck around and played his career with us.

Also,

Craig Wing had a great career, but Ricky Stuart throwing 15 kilos on the lad and putting him at hooker as they had Fittler, means I will always ponder how good a genuine five-eight he could have been if we had not been booted.

Sam Huihahau is the one from that list.

I have no idea how that didn’t turn out. Thought we had a 200 game winger there.

And it finished with a whimper. He just didn’t do anything post juniors.

I liked Kane Morgan, but I always thought that was less of a sure thing.

Adrian Haangana
Dom Walsh

To a lesser extent, Mawene Hiroti. More so cause he got a contract extension with Graham and Talakai and the club tried to debut him early at the 9’s. I never really understood what they saw in him except he was physically developed a little early.

Eddie Paea, he was the bomb coming through the grades but never made it in the top grade.

Matt Mundine,Tevita Cotterill.Taylor Pelenise arrived with similar pedigree to Fui Fui but Never amounted to anything.

Luke Macdougall - queue one chance joke - even in todays game could’ve been quality.
