Josh Addo Carr

It’s a solid list of talent we have out wide from a skill and potential standpoint (putting aside team fit and experience).

We made a grand final with AJ, Paulo and Milne making the lion share of starts on the wing for us.

I think Munro (and probably even Mellars) have as high/a higher ceiling than Paulo.

The club have decided to put their faith in these guys to take the field more often than not and do a job.

I’m sure everyone would like more certainty out wide in the form of a more bankable addition. That could still happen given we have roster spots open.

Alex Johnston went from zero first grade games to 18 games, 21 tries and a Premiership his first season in grade. It’s not like young untried wingers can’t have breakout seasons.

Munro and Mellars will both be 20, Mellars turns 21 in May, seems a good time to bust out.

I don’t love the lack of depth, but until we hit an injury crisis there, the guys available should hold well (at least, that seems to be what the club is hoping for).

Yes please.

Ideal winger for us in terms of body size and work ethic etc
Great, thanks for taking the bait.

So we sign a kid who was a nobody this time last year. But many don't want our two prospects to have a run this season. I don't know what it is with so many of our supporters all they see are the negative in the young athletes we have but will jump as signing a guy who was in the same boat this time last year.

Another question seeing Munro is such a risk I suppose we should let him go right?

Sorry @brendan299 none of this is targeted at you. I was just trying to make a very important point. About our young talent.

In todays game, wingers have become important players.

But I don't think the club has caught on to that yet for some reason.

Wingers have always been important. However, they are a the butt of jokes for many who play and supporters. Still happens today with AJ. The guy has scored 195 tries but is still the butt of he doesn't like the hard work jibes from his team mates and coaches. Wingers are the footy equivalent to drummers.

So we now have Souths fans talking up Parra. That'll do me ☺️.
Lomax doesn't want to play wing and JAC has had nearly as many injuries as the players that our club are putting their faith in.
I think I'll back our club on this one as I expect they know a little bit more about our current situation than the tragic so called tragics on here.
There's a negativity thread sitting there waiting for some of the content on here.
Just saying 😜

Not much we can do by worrying about it surely Wayne will have a plan. Tass will be more than capable on the wing too I think. We will have to do the best with what we have with not much at all left in the cap for the last 2 spots. Solly said on SEN radio last week we don’t have much wriggle room.

As for Lomax he said on 9 news about 10 days ago he’s playing centre at Parra.
