Surprised no one had mentioned this yet.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have called in Gehamat Shibasaki to their NRL squad on a week-to-week basis to help cover the Club’s current injury toll.

Shibasaki is playing for the Rabbitohs-affiliated club, the Townsville Blackhawks, in the Queensland Cup and will join the Rabbitohs this week for training and potential selection.
 
Maybe Ellison can get a ESL player or 2 for the rest of the season - maybe even an Aussie that is homesick.

Just as we start to play some of the sides that we could challenge we look like playing them with a stack of players in the stands. It’s a cruel world.
 
From memory this guy was pretty shit.

He is not a high quality player, but under the circumstances, we need somebody, anybody. Anyone with a pair off boots can probably get a run next week.

Not that I care what others think but we are getting laughed at pretty hard for signing this guy.

Especially from Broncos, Cowboys and Knights fans who he played for.

Firstly the Burns thing was done before these latest injuries. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

But Shibasaki is only a week to week thing and not part of our top 30. You can’t stand in the way of a NSW Cup player when they are offered a full time contract.

There is no way we could offer the same thing for him. Not for 18 months.

This hopefully will only be 1-2 weeks.

Not sure how its hindsight when our backs have been depleted for most of the season.

We could stand in the way of a nsw cup player signing on with another nrl club if he has a contract with us, but we are mr nice guys of rugby league so we don't.

Now we have to call in another player to fill the void who isn't as good.

It’s hindsight because last week there wasn’t a need for Burns. We since have lost 4 players to injury and only Latrell to come back. I include Gagai in that.

It’s not about being Mr. Nice Guys. It’s stupid to think that any team would stand in the way of a NSW Cup player that they had no plans in their future when they were offered a NRL contract.

We are calling in a player that we will use hopefully for 1-2 weeks. That’s it.

The club have done plenty wrong in recent times. We all know that. Letting Burns go to the Cowboys isn’t one of them.
