Player Damien Cook

I don't think Cody went missing, he tried hard all night, but his timing reverted back to the first few rounds of the year
It wasn't his timing, the whole out side right that he was feeding were out of time. At one stage late in the 2nd half they were all off side when he was going to put a grubber in and he had to die with the ball. He got up and gave then a mouth full.

Truly believe we have tapped him one year too early.

In great form, wants to be here, great for the culture, and not even on that much coin as alleged.
If Cookie had, for the past couple of seasons, been playing like he has been recently then we wouldn’t even be discussing this.

He has to take responsibility, not sympathy…

…and I think he’s been a great bloke, role model, fitness fanatic. So much untapped, inconsistent attacking ability. Not a true hooker, he played well at lock recently.

Sad but we need financial balance.

It’s no coincidence that we’ve seen Cook start to play better off the back of our forwards lifting their game. Been saying it forever… your halves (including the dummy half) can only play well when your forwards lay a platform for them to do so.

Easy to blame Cook and co for poor performance at the beginning of the year but our forwards were absolute garbage until about a month ago. That has been the biggest change in our game. Blokes like Keaon and Davvy have gone from averaging 80 odd metres per game to almost 200.

If you're a hooker that can't create anything unless your forwards are completely dominating, that's fine, but you shouldn't be in your teams top 5 paid players then.

I've read a few articles lamenting him leaving (most of them full of factually incorrect statements about his contract situation), pointing out how he had 3 linebreak assists on Saturday... against a reserve grade standard Manly side. When he only had 3 linebreak assists in total in his 12 previous games this year before that.

He wasn't on his pat malone in that regard, but he was average.

You often see a player reach a purple patch of form once they have just signed a contract elsewhere or looking for a new contract

Facts.
Far too boring for the click creators

Not that he will ever see it, but I just want to give a massive shout out to Damien for his last month or so.

He is understandably hurt and sad about leaving the club we and him love, yet he has shown nothing but humility, graciousness for what the club afforded him and his family, and most importantly for us, the fans, he has played absolutely excellent on the field.

Has been close to my MOTM the last two weeks.

Last night, in a bludger of a match, 2 try-assists, 3 line break assists and to me, a man of the match performance.

Well done and all the best for the future, just not on the field for the merged scum.
I gave him my 3 points MOM

Manly were also facing a side minus Trell, Cam Murray, Campbell Graham, Tatola, Havili and Host. And arguably Ilias and Munro.
Yes, only difference is all our large reserve grade contingent have had long stints in the top side this season. Where Manly it pretty much hit the wall over a space of a couple of weeks.

It is ironic that we have had those reggies playing for so long in the top squad the media over look at how decimated our side is.

You highlighted the fact you thought Manly had a reserve grade team, so did we more or less, looking for some balance.
Thank you for confirming it had nothing to do with my point.

I've highlighted many times who was missing for us. That doesn't relate whatsoever about my point re: creating linebreaks against a reserve grade standard Manly side.

It's all official now. I kind of feel a bit sad to be honest.

How the heck is it identical to Reynolds??? It's not even similar!! For God's sake media.

Again, for God's sake, what a media beat up.
