It's amazing what you can do with the extra 0.5-1 second of time reserve grade offers you.

Exactly. His kicks aren’t bad it’s his positioning. He needs to find a bit more time.

I assume you start him as the 14. Then blood him during Origin time and hope he has skills to be a 6 or 7. Otherwise it’s Latrell/Wighton to 6 and Cody retires

I’ve no doubt they’re looking at Origin. Also helps if he plays 14.

He has played a bit of first receiver on the left tonight. Wouldn’t look out of place in the halves.

Obseravations:

* Terrific response from Ilias. He'll never be a highlights package guy but his kicking game has been good, great in defense as always and has steered the side well.

* Jye Gray, now he is a highlights guy. He has that "too good for this level" about him ala Chris Sandow or Dylan Walker.

* I still like Pete M's work around the ruck.

* Fletcher hits hard in defence but a bit of a non-event in attack so far.

* Dom Young's brother is crap.
