NRL Grand Final: Panthers v Broncos

What still amazes me is that Penrith cannot construct a try, like at all.

...but, they do everything else right. Everything. They just give themselves more chances to score than everyone else. They wear you down, and wear you down, and get you.

Whether it's natural or not, they just commit to everything and don't give up.

Our entire off-season needs to focus on defence. Like, 90% of it. We need to be ruthless in defence, and never stop.

If we can't match them physically and in effort areas we won't get close.
I am still a bit bewildered by how our defence went from conceding around 17 points a game in the first half of the season to conceding nearly double that in the second.

I can understand a gradual drop as you get tired over the season but the sudden difference was unbeleivable.

Still it was what it was and there's no point in dwelling on it. On to starting afresh next season and looking forward to the likes of Munro and Duncan becoming established first team players and more quality coming through the ranks.

Panthers completion rate tonight was 37/38 something I dream of from our lads.

Ezra Mam’s third try lost them the GF.
They thought they had it won.
80 minutes guys….
Seriously at that point everyone thought Broncos had it and just couldn’t see Penrith coming back - 16 points comeback.

Cleary just god like in the last 15 mins and everything he did was just incredible

Well…you have to give it to Penrith.

Down by 16 points and they put on the last 15 minutes for the ages to score 3 tries.

Nathan Cleary cemented himself as one of the all time greats.

And unfortunately Adam Reynolds lost two GF’s to Penrith.

It was a bloody good game and you’d be churlish to think Penrith didn’t deserve the win.
Well said Prowsey. I echo those thoughts. Reyno lost by 2 to Penrith twice.
He had an absolute shocker. What a selfish captain’s challenge to save face.

The only way we win next season is if we get Reynolds back or play wighton in the halves.

Reynolds was the only player capable going toe to toe with Cleary.

We would have been bashed 50 nil.

We have no kicking game what so ever.

I feel like we need a clean out. Too much nepotism in the club.

The best player in the NSW cup (Hawkins) stood up and won his team the championship

The best player in the NRLW (Upton) stood up and won her team the premiership

The best player in the NRL (Cleary) stood up and won his team the premiership

Pretty incredible day when you think about it

Even worse as we were conceding just over 13 points a game to 28 points a game after 11 rounds.

no such thing happened tonigh. He was MIA all game aside from when it came time to kick and then he was poo.
Even the last set to win the game, he was nowhere to be seen till tackle 4.
the little general pft 🥴
