Coming into the competition in 2027 as the 18th team.

First that could be good news if we want to keep Wayne for longer because he is signed with us in 27 so they can't do a dolphins and have him "set up" the club. Will just depends what happens with pNG and if Wayne wants to live over there in 2028. I would prefer maroubra myself personally.

Secondly I wish there was a betting market for this club failing. They might have a few good years but having a split board between the bears side and the WA side will fail like it has for tigers and dragons and even manly. 1 identity, 1 vision, 1 board working in unison are the ingredients for success.

Third I'm happy we have a WA team, I think it's needed both in growing the sport and tv rights deals.

Great stuff. Since I was young I've been advocating for the Bears' return. Glad it's in Perth as well, seems to make the most sense for both parties. A preseason match and a regular season match at NSO makes sense too. Great for the game and exciting to have another game each week.

Great now let’s play 18 rounds

3 Stand alone Origin and Pacific Test weeks

As long as this split round bullshit continues teams like the Sharks and Dogs are going to be gifted top 4 spots and others are going to have to battle harder with ridiculously harder draws

Western bears vs West Tigers…don’t mind that the bears are back but surely they could have just used Perth Bears

I’m not a fan of bringing in more teams to be honest.

In a matter of fact I believe we should have less teams and have each team play each other twice in the draw.

Last time that notion came to be we got kicked out...

Funnily I decided to look at the draw of a few sides. Sharks, Bulldogs, us, Panthers and Storm.

Should the top 8 remain the same as it is now at the end of the season this is how each of the teams would have played other top 8 sides.

Remember the maximum those that in the top 8 can play is 14 compared to 16 of those outside the top 8.

Rabbitohs 13
Storm 11
Bulldogs 11
Sharks 10
Panthers 9

Yeah and the Bears choose the weak way out by merging.

It’s just my opinion but we don’t have the talent pool to have 18 to 20 teams plus with all the injuries that come in fact and teams get even weaker during origin period.

I think they'll change the Origin period to help that, but there's plenty of talent out there. It's coaching and pathways that needs to be highlighted, and that's generally on the clubs.

I think you weaken the talent pool with my teams
