Gross debt is estimated to be $940 billion (34.0 per cent of GDP) at 30 June 2025, increasing to $1,161 billion (36.7 per cent of GDP) at 30 June 2028. Gross debt is expected to be higher across each year of the forward estimates than at the 2024–25 Budget.

Despite assuring us all immigration was to be cut numbers i heard on the radio said we still had over 400,000 permanent new residents here in the last 12 months, the number was just a few thousand under the record, people financially stressed paying huge rents, people living in cars and tents and Labor still has the gates wide open, friend of the working man?, not any more..

Elections always being put the scare tactics via xenophobia, it’s a conservative given
The ignorant masses will eat up the notion of “Johnny foreigner is out to steal your job, house, women, future” etc etc
 
It has ZERO to do with where the immigrants come from, it has everything to do with numbers and supply and demand, you must be ignorant if you think our housing crisis has anything at all to do with xenophobia
Our health system, our roads and our housing can not cope with over 400,000 permanent entries every year.

Rubbish, Albo let in more dog handlers, or was it yoga instructors last year than builders, immigration does boost an economy but not at over 400k a year, and it would not matter if they were purple, i believe under Howard the annual rate was something like 120k, we have people living in our local park and its all over Brisbane, i recently tried to rent a caravan for a family member, none were available but one was coming up at Springwood for 520$ a week, 400k immigrants a year is way over the long term average and the cost of housing and the shortage are a direct result, it has nothing to do with the race or where they come from.

People have been living on the street forever, there could be rooms available everywhere & people will still live on the street & in times like these with an ugly political, Culture war led shitfight it gets weaponised & made out that it’s unprecedented

Its not ignorant to want a sensible level of immigration, people have lived on the streets before but now many have no choice, its numbers and nothing to do with fear or being weaponized , and trans people in sport?, my grand daughter is a talented aussie rules player and should never have to face a player born a male.
