Robson you mean?Rumours going around roosters are signing reece robinson from cowboys and going hard for him according to wiedler
Yeah, and Smith has stated that he doesn't want to go back to Townsville in pretty straightforward statement. They’ve offered him 5 years and a trade with Smith to the Cows who have laughed at them. Cows have a rookie half next season and cant afford a new hooker as well so it’s incredibly unlikely to happen for next season atleast
Robsons still got a year to go, I believe and the cows have offered him 2 more after that with an option as well
Rumour has it he did go to a retirement home to hold talks with Ben Hunt. Why?, this an opinion piece by wanna be journo.
Staggs would be costly and provide zero benefit to our side so I am good if there is no money left for him. I would rather Jack at left centre where we contracted him to play and CG at right centre. Best is to look for players we do need and skip those we don't. Like your suggestion of Matt Lodge would be great. That is who we need to help win the middle.ATM Jack's utillity value is plugging the left centre hole though.
It's likely that we will have Lodge and Brandon Smith for next year so I doubt that there will be enough money left over for Staggs.
.
It’s coming into the 6th season since they last played in a GF. The pundits have them as near favourites every season based upon the perception that they have a gun roster…now that roster is getting a broom put through it surely it can’t be much longer before Robbo gets the spotlight put on him.I could be wrong (which rarely occurs mind you), but I get the feeling that TrentR is looking at 25 as a rebuild year and is strategically planning for 26/27.
Otherwise, I just dont figure what he is up to.
Am I alone on this one?
Smith confirmed on the Bye round that his desire is to have his 2026 contract sorted prior to returning to the field mid season.
From his point of view, better to get a deal locked away when he’s about to be fit again (whatever that deal is). If he comes back and does a knee or something, then he really will be without a home for 2026.He can “desire” all he likes but why would anyone take the risk this soon into his injury.
why pay him to sit out injured and he does his knee again when trying before playing
let the rorters suffer with then and then strike. Hopefully we won’t need him by then
