Maybe we did play good footy. But the club we should be and have been for 12-13 years shouldn’t be and wouldn’t be bragging about that run.

Injuries and interim coaches etc are legit reasons to rule the season off as a disaster but nothing we did last year; or for the past 18 months on the field gives me confidence to be positive.

Getting rid of JD, bringing WB, changing our low performance team - that’s where the positivity comes from, for me.

All those teams except the Tigers finished higher than us and had that team or our actual top 17 stayed on the field for a majority of games last year there is no reason we wouldn't have at the very least played finals footy. Smile and enjoy life or maybe look for another team to give you more satisfaction. 😁

I didn't either however, to give credit he did comment that it was an error and he knew the bunnies had a team. A "Freudian slip" of sorts

Thats why we’ve kept 2 spots open still.
Even though he was on small dollars i don’t see the need to clog up a space on gags.
theres plenty of cover in my humble opinion

Gags to me is in the Andrew Everingham mould. Had one good season and taken the money to go else where as he knew his opportunity was over here.

And just like Everingham I will have good memories of some of the stuff Gags did. He persevered and ended up debuting and making a good fist of his lone season in the NRL. However, reality is he is not in line for an NRL spot with us at full strength. I hope he has a long career in the ESL and makes some cash while he is there.

I'm with the Captain on this one.
Though I like Gagai and during part of last season I wanted him to stay, he did fall away later in season and now I am hoping the younger quick brigade come up trumps for us in 25.
Also personally, not knowing his situation, if it were me ... ESL top grade is a better option and chance to show them what he can do rather than playing cup in front of a few hundred fans.
All the best to him I reckon.
Hope he secures a good long career over there and glad he helped us out when he could this year.
 
Anyone know why the courier mail in Brisbane has just announced that Lachlan Hubner has signed with souths?
I thought this was decided weeks ago?
 
Re: the interest in Lodge and Wayne being on the hunt for a middle, I think that says that Koloamatangi is going to be an edge again in Wayne’s world. Our Kikau/Olakau’tu.

Middle rotation of Lodge, Arrow, Tatola, Moale.
 
I’ll be disappointed if we do get Lodge. I think his reputation as a controversial figure actually adds to the idea that he brings value to a side. He’s fallen off quite a bit these last few years.

Koloa no longer plays like a Kikau/Olakau'tu which is the problem.

If he did it would solve some back row issues, he also still can be a liability in defence in the back row.

I don't know if it was a coincidence or not but when we went on that run in 2023 beating the top sides, he never played during those games.
