Exactly what Souths needed to do as well
Not really. Wayne is not going to work under a GM of Football, he doesn’t need his hand held or to be kept in check - Madge on the other hand…..

I’m a little bit lost on the ban discussion logic.

We’ve had players who got caught unlicensed and under the influence. No one suggested they get a 12 month ban.

But journos are throwing out the idea of a 12 month ban, because the act, that others have been caught doing, resulted in a crash as opposed to a pull over and arrest?

That doesn’t make much sense to me.

We have a head of football, he’s just not very good.

Hence the need for a clean out

If you get caught by the cops drink or drug driving you get a suspension and fine. It’s a lot bigger penalty if someone gets hurt while doing it so it’s logical that the NRL would work the same way when it comes to his punishment

If (and it’s an if) the club see Wayne as a 3-year only proposition.

Then 100%, they need to spend the next 3 years putting together a plan to have a league leading football dept by the time Wayne leaves.

And that isn’t a succession plan with an assistant taking over.

It’s making sure the guys who run the football dept are the best in the business.

Just like our current coach and current CEO can claim to be in that class.

Whether that’s an elite football manager, or a gun head of pathways and recruitment coupled with a quality coach who can cover some of the football dept ops as well.

This is especially true if they are flirting with the idea of a Sam (or Willie Peters). If you aren’t going to have one of the big 3-4 experienced coaches, the guys in those other departments need to be excellent operators.

We didn’t help JD at all in the regard (whether he had a say in them or not).

You will always get smacked harder for causing actual harm vs potentially causing harm.

Just interesting the difference in sentiment when it comes to on field offences. We’re constantly hearing that the injury shouldn’t be tied to the offence (although many feel it does).

It’s an interesting nuance.

The grading 100% is influenced by the outcome of the illegal play. It’s in the judiciary grading rules.
