The NSW Cup side slipped back into 6th place but are still securely in the top eight. They play the 9th placed Knights on Saturday at St Johns Oval Newcastle. Kick-off is at 2.00pm. Our last placed Flegg side provide the curtain raiser to the main game on Friday night when they take on 3rd placed Newcastle. Kick-off is at 5.30pm.

Please put all team news, scores and discussion here.

Cheers

It's good that the NSW Cup side has a huge buffer (eight competition points ahead of 9th placed Newcastle) because the'll have a very weak pack this week.

Cheers

They should have won the other night. Had 2 tries disallowed. One was a definite try. Our player dropped the ball but kicked it before it hit the ground. Ref called it a knock on. That would have made it 20-0.

Then we scored a try and the ref called it back for a forward pass. That was a tough one as running at pace I felt it floated forward. Definitely seen those ones let go.

Parra handled the weather conditions better in the second half.

Anyone who can walk is probably in firsts or the NSW Cup team this week.

Interested to see that Tallis Duncan is now in the NSW Cup squad.
With the injuries and also players missing from origin it was always going to happen. Hopefully both he and Terrell kill it and don’t look back.

Interesting that Peoples is there but is nowhere near the first grade squad this week. Has he slipped down the pecking order?
When he came in we had quite a few players out at the time. He came in more through necessity than anything else. We now have Cartwright, Chee Kam and Lovett all back from injury and ahead of him.

Mmmm true that, good point. Rightly so too.

I'm really excited to see Lovett play first grade at some stage!

Could also be a sign that we know that our flegg season is done and getting to see if some of the better players can step up.
With the players we have to bring up to first grade someone had to fill those spots. It will be interesting to see what happens the following weeks though.

I really think it’s time to bring up a few of the young kids to have them prepared for next season.

It's a juggling act, Kempy. We want to see what these kids have got but we haven't given up on this season yet.
