Tass hasn’t proved himself to be a ‘top shelf first grader’. He’s a solid first reserve. His game is limited but he holds his own. Just the kind of guy you want hanging around waiting to cover for injury. In a perfect world, he shouldn’t be able to make our fully fit starting side as a top 4 contender.

Thing is, I rate him massively higher than Bryson Goodwin and I never heard Souths fans crying in their cornflakes when we re-signed him.

Goodwin is a good comp.

Especially as he wasn’t good enough to make the 2014 premiership winning side. Solid first reserve like Tass though.

I don’t know people were crying in their cornflakes, the 3 years seemed a bit of a surprising commitment for a guy that sits 18-25 in your roster is all.

Hyperbole for emphasis my man. Come on.

All one needs to do is read about eleventy replies to the Tass re-signing news. You might not have, but others.....

Think i am in between.
Not a top gun obviously but I think he has and can be a really solid first grader.
I am looking forward to seeing how he returns for us. He has had plenty of time to reflect on his game.
Obviously WB was happy to keep him for another 3 years.
Again fingers crossed.

I really don’t understand why people are down on Tass, he’s absolutely proved himself a top shelf first grader
It’s bizarre how supporters get a bee in their bonnet about certain players, when he did have an ordinary season so did everyone else & he’s obviously had some injury issues, but we know the quality is there
If AJ isn’t ready round 1 this is what I’d go with wouldn’t second guess it (providing Trell can use his 1 game suspension for All Stars game)

Trell
Munro
Campbell
Wighton
Tass

Both good players, different teams, different circumstances, different era, different dynamics around the team
There’s no reason to even compare players

I think Tass has the potential to go to another level with some really good players around him, he seems to have a good nose for a try & backs up well, decent footy brain; might get a little lost in defence sometimes but I’m sure the team will all be working hard on defence in the preseason
