I'd put Reynolds in that same boat if we're honest.

Even in 2021 he got us to a GF, then had a quiet ineffective game in the GF. Much like last year for the Broncos.

Cooks game was always going to suffer once we no longer had the forwards to dominate the middle and get quick ptb’s. Cook‘s speed advantage was effectively neutered without the space around the markers. He’s never been able to adapt to a game where he had to create openings around the ruck.

We were the best team in 2014. Since then, we haven’t been the best team.

2021 we were damn close.

It was always kind of impressive that we continued to be in the final 4 despite having to move Sutton, GI and Sam on.

The club letting Adam, Gagai, Sua and Wayne go at the end of that 2021 season was a parting we weren’t ready to cover.

Queue JD losing control of the side and we are where we are.

We don’t have the success we had 2018-2022 without Cody and Cook.

2021 was the only time we actually had a team good enough to win it all. Unfortunately Latrell broke Manu’s face and we came up short.

Penrith were a better team in 2021 but we should have beat them as you said.

Latrell plays in that GF and we win it.

We backed in Lachy and let Reyno go when perhaps we should have backed in Mamo and let Cook go.

Perhaps then we wouldnt be in such a mess as we are now...

No, other way around. We were the best team in 2013 season proper, Rorters were best in 2013 Finals.
In 2014 Rorters were best team in 2014 season proper with Souths being best in Finals series.
Forget the gibber about players leaving - our biggest loss was Bennett!

I am not aware of any average hooker who has dominated selection at State and National level.

Cooky isn't a great hooker at the moment. Same for a couple of other high profile, rep players in our team (in their position, not as hooker, before that gets said).

He certainly does seem like a good bloke and is a supreme athlete, never been in trouble, well spoken etc. I do hope he stays on in a trainer/high performance capacity. A few guys could learn a thing or two about looking after themselves, and how to speak to the media, from him
Not to mention how unfit the rest of the team look
